Eugenie Bouchard swaps Nike clothing for New Balance during Australian Open 2021 qualifying

The new season has certainly brought exciting new things for different players. Some adopt new styles, some hire new employees and some engage in new activities. However, former world number 5 Eugenie Bouchard is special and unique. She recently played her first match of 2021 and shocked fans with a change.

It seems that Bouchard has signed a new sponsorship agreement. Playing in the Australian Open 2021 qualifiers, the Canadian could be seen wearing the ‘New balance’ (NB) kit. It was amazing, as it was the first time fans had seen her wearing the NB outerwear.

Before that, the tennis beauty worked in association with Nike. Her main sponsor was Nike and fans only associated her with this brand.

Bouchard certainly hopes that the new godfather will bring him luck. She desperately needs it after having a pretty poor season in 2020. Will fans see an entirely new and improved Bouchard in New Balance?

Eugénie Bouchard begins her 2021 campaign

Bouchard recently started her 2021 campaign by playing her first match at the 2021 Australian Open qualifiers. She faced Australian player Abbie Myers in the first-ever qualifier.

Bouchard couldn’t have gotten off to a better start as she beat the Aussie in straight sets. The final score of the match was 6-2, 6-3. She didn’t really struggle in the match and managed to pull off an easy victory.

After the win, Bouchard thanked his fans for their overwhelming support.

“Hi everyone, this is Eugenie Bouchard. Just completed my first round in Dubai of AO qualifying. I just want to thank you all for your support and I will see you at the next game, ” noted Bouchard after the game.

Bouchard’s goal will surely be to qualify for the 2021 Australian Open, a feat she was unable to accomplish last year. Other than that, she will definitely try to work hard and move up the WTA rankings. Will Bouchard be able to surpass her opponents in 2021?
