Nike app features Alex Eala’s story


WITH the spotlight on Alex Eala on the international stage, it’s no longer a shock to see Alex Eala’s name in the most prestigious places.

The 16-year-old was once ranked 2nd in the world and reached levels that no other Filipino ace has ever reached in the past. She also has two Grand Slam titles to her name, with exploits in girls’ doubles from the Australian Open 2020 and the French Open 2021.

And with just two years remaining in the Juniors, Eala has been relentless in preparing for his transition to the pros.

While she represents the Philippines, she is also backed by one of the biggest brands in the world.

Eala officially became a Nike Athlete in 2019 and has been a loyal endorser ever since.

And she kicks off her journey to another fruitful year in her career, Nike has shared her story to spark a glimpse of hope amid the pandemic.

In a feature film titled “The Filipina Tennis Player Who Crushes All Challenges On and Off the Court,” Nike’s content team discusses her early career since she started playing tennis at the age of from four years, until having to live alone in Spain to train in the Rafael Nadal Academy in Mallorca.

The editorial staff revealed how she handled the sequence of events in a very mature approach despite her young age.

Eala says, “It’s going to be really hard, and you’re not always going to progress. You won’t always see improvement, but sometimes you have to take a step back to take two steps forward.”
